Korangi fire station attacker issuing threats to officials from jail

A man accused of attacking Karachi’s Korangi Fire station issued threats from jail to government officials.

Accused Bilal Zafar has now been threatening Fire Brigade department employees from jail. He has been accused of the murder of six officials of the department.

The Rangers, Police, and Sindh High Court have all received applications from the Fire Brigade Department officials regarding threats made against them. In their applications, officials expressed concern that the accused had made threats by calling various fire station phone numbers.

The application stated that “these threats have alarmed firemen and station in-charges.”

When Bilal, a former CTD official, was apprehended on October 12, he confessed to the crime and said he had killed the three fire brigade workers to exact revenge for the death of his father.

It is important to note that the attack on the Korangi fire station, which was close to Bilal Chowrangi on October 1, resulted in the deaths of two employees.

Two employees were killed and several others were injured when two unidentified men stormed the fire station and started shooting randomly.Two unidentified men stormed the fire station and opened indiscriminate fire, killing two employees and injuring one. Later on, October 3, the third fire brigade employee – who got injured in the attack – succumbed to his wounds in the hospital.
