The Pakistan Meteorological Department announced on Friday the Cyclone Gulab treading towards Sindh coast has now transformed into a new storm, termed Shaheen.
The new cyclone has now fully developed, said the Met Director Sardar Sarfaraz, adding that it does not pose a threat to Karachi anymore. Earlier the Met department had issued a warning for Karachi saying that torrential rains will hit the city due to Cyclone Gulab and they may cause urban flooding.

However, the director said since there’s still low pressure in the Arabian ocean, Karachi is witnessing gusty winds and moderate rainfall which shall continue till October 2 (tomorrow). All fishermen are also advised to remain away from surfing into seas due to stormy aftermath, he said.
The cyclone is now headed South East to Gwadar from whence it will reroute towards Oman.
