The Meteorological Office has forecasted dry weather accompanied by colder nights in Karachi over the next 24 hours, with the minimum temperature recorded at 16.5 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 28 to 29 degrees Celsius.
In the morning, the air recorded 40 percent humidity, and northeastern winds were blowing at a speed of seven nautical miles in the city. However, despite the cooler temperatures, Karachi remains one of the world’s most polluted cities, ranking 8th in the air quality index with a reading of 171 in the hazardous zone.
The weather department indicates that cold and dry conditions will prevail in most districts of Sindh, with the likelihood of fog and smog in specific areas, including Jacobabad, Mohen Jo Daro, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Ghotki, and Padidan.
In Balochistan, most districts will experience cold and frosty weather, while extreme cold weather is anticipated in the northern districts of the province. The Met Office has also predicted cold and dry weather for most parts of the country, with the possibility of light rain in some areas and snowfall in the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Additionally, fog and smog are expected to prevail in the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh. As residents brace for colder nights, the weather conditions underscore the diverse climate patterns across different regions of Pakistan.
