Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday declared that the upcoming Independence day will be termed as Green Pakistan day and appealed to the public to plant trees to commemorate 14th August.
Senator Faisal Javed announced the development on Twitter and said that the prime minister has requested that citizens plant trees to commemorate the independence of Pakistan. “And share your photos while planting on your area’s WhatsApp number,” Javed added.
This development comes a day after 13,000 students from Gujranwala managed to set a world record by planting 50,000 saplings in a minute. The record was previously held by India.
