Imran Khan is as good as our current leadership, says Atta Tarar

Imran Khan Atta Tarar

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Atta Tarar, recently addressed the way Indian media is portraying Pakistan’s internal politics.

In his speech, Tarar said Indian channels are using Pakistan’s political disagreements to push a narrative that the country is divided.

Tarar strongly rejected this claim, stating that Pakistanis may have political differences, but that does not mean they are disunited.

“We don’t speak against our own country the way Indian media shows. Yes, we debate, we argue, and we criticize – but that’s part of democracy, not division,” he said.

He also spoke about Imran Khan, saying that while Khan has had strong supporters and critics, the real focus right now should be on national unity. “Imran Khan may have his strengths, just like our current leadership does. But today, the topic is not about individuals. It is about Pakistan,” he added.

Tarar urged people to understand that there is a time for political battles and a time for standing together. “We can argue in a month or two, but today we stand united,” he said. He advised young people to learn from the elders, mentioning how during General Ayub Khan’s era, the nation came together as one in times of crisis.

He concluded by saying that Indian media cannot shake Pakistan’s unity by highlighting political clashes. “We are a nation that debates, not a nation that breaks,” he said, adding that failed policies from the past have no place in Pakistan’s future.
