Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted an incoming heatwave in Karachi from the 5th of May to the 8th due to a change in the direction of wind.
Dry hot winds blowing in from the south and south west will lead to an increase in temperature with Mercury rising as high as 42 degree Celsius within the port city. During this time, the cool sea breeze shall remain suspended.
On Friday, temperature in Karachi was recorded as high as 37 degree Celsius. Meanwhile, the department has forecast a dry spell across most parts of the country on Friday and Saturday.
With ongoing lockdown during the month of Ramdan, the heatwave will further add to the grievances of the public.
The coronavirus count reached 17699 in Pakistan on Friday.
