MQM-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Amir Khan cleared the air filled with rumours that emerged following return of Hyder Abbas Rizvi and Adil Siddiqui and reaffirmed that both these leaders were still part of the party.
Terming reports of other political representatives, who were once associated with erstwhile MQM, and had been in ‘self-imposed’ exile, returning to Pakistan to reconnect with political leaders who now represent MQM-P, he said those are just rumors while owning the return of Rizvi and Siddiqui.

It may be noted MQM-P leaders Haider Abbas Rizvi and Adil Siddiqui have returned to Pakistan after a long period amid reports that other party leaders would also come back to the country soon.
Speaking over their alliance in the federal government, Amir Khan said although they are not satisfied with the performance of the present government, still would still not oppose them.
“Our promises regarding Karachi and Hyderabad projects are yet to be fulfilled,” he said as he demanded PTI-led Center government reconsider its performance.
He rejected any prospects of MQM-P serving instrumental in attempting to topple the incumbent government by means of withdrawing its support.
Regarding the opposition alliance Paksitan Democratic Movement, he said MQM-P is currently part of the government but they are still watching their activities closely.
“It is a fight between bigwigs and we are only monitoring the situation,” the senior deputy convnever said and added the only the outcome of this fight will reveal who remains and who is sent packing.
Shifting to the local politics, he lamented Pakistan Peoples Party-led Sindh government didn’t deliver on its claims of performing in the province, and especially in Karachi.
Khan claimed that it has already been months since they left the powers of the local bodies but “what have they done during this time period”.
He also said he does not see imminent local bodies elections in the province.
