A cloudburst in Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s Neelum Valley caused a flash flood that stranded hundreds of visitors and destroyed a large number of homes and vehicles (AJK).
Initial reports state that five persons are missing as a result of a cloudburst in Neelum Valley. More than 100 visitors are present in Neelam Valley, Ratigali, according to District Disaster Management Authority Neelam officials, and they are all safe.
The flow of the Neelum river is affected at Durayan due to flash floods in Ratigali drain. The floodwater has also destroyed three mini-hydel power plants, five dwellings, and cars.
The tourists are being relocated to a secure location, according to Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, and all preparations have been made.
The AJK prime minister has issued a notice to the relevant institutions.
