In Dera Bugti district, the Dakokh dam has been in a bad state and is suspected of being damaged due to the region’s constant rain and floods.
The waterworks’ spillway has been broken, causing the water to overflow from the dam.
Locals believe that if the crumbling dam breaks, Dera Bugti town would suffer significant losses in terms of both life and property.
According to local reports, the district’s dams have been completely filled with floodwater and heavy rainfall.
Recently, the Dolangi dam in the area of Qila Abdullah collapsed. After intense rains caused flash floods in the area, the building collapsed. The area’s residences and orchards were destroyed by the water that invaded villages, according to Chaman Deputy Commissioner.
At least seven dams were reportedly damaged in Balochistan in July as a result of the province’s heavy rainfall.
Seven dams were washed away in floodwater, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), and several more dams are now completely full with water. Communication with numerous cities has been cut off as the areas have flooded.
The Meerani Dam near Turbat flooded; the spillways were opened as a result, and water is still flowing. The Meerani Dam’s greatest level is 244 feet, while the water level at the time of writing was 246 feet.
