Friday marked the end of the possibility of more monsoon rains in Karachi, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). Nevertheless, it was expected to rain lightly in a number of locations around the city during the next few days.
The monsoon season in Karachi begins on July 15 and lasts till September 15 according to Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz, although this year, the rainy season began early on July 1.
He said that there is little prospect of monsoon rains in rural Sindh either, but that there may be some drizzle in the port city during the next several days owing to low-lying clouds lingering over the shore.
The forecasters stated that the city’s weather will stay partly overcast for the next three days, with a chance of light rain in the evening and early morning.
The highest temperature in the city would remain between 31°C and 33°C over the specified time, it was stated. Over the following three days, a sea wind from the southwest will still be present.
The city’s high temperature on Friday was 31.1 °C, while the air’s relative humidity was 71%.
