Pakistan Railways extended the suspension of train service from Karachi for an additional 10 days due to damage to the train lines from Nawabshah to Khairpur.

Customers who paid advance booking fees will be reimbursed by the department.

Details indicate that flooding has caused the train service from Karachi to be stopped for the previous 27 days. Until the end of September, the operation would be largely restored, according to railroad authorities.

According to authorities, train tracks from Nawabshah to Khairpur have begun to dry up in some places, but from Paddidan to Bojeri, the track is waterlogged.

The 366 km track from Paddidan to Bhirya Road Station is totally dry. While train service between Bojeri and Paddidan can be resumed at a 15 km/h warning pace.

The department is evaluating the track conditions between Ran Pathani and Khairpur.

Eight additional express trains will now run to Rohri, according to the railways, weeks after they were halted due to the severe monsoon rains that caused flooding in the Sindh region.

Eight trains will be permitted to proceed to Rohri from Peshawar, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi, according to Railways. The trains included the Tezgam, Jaffar Express, Business Train, Allama Iqbal Express, Karachi Express, Karakoram Express, and Fareed Express.
