Karachi authorities have successfully retrieved valuable land belonging to the Pakistan Red Crescent Society after an anti-encroachment operation in Orangi Town, ending nearly four decades of illegal occupation.
The operation was carried out by the Sindh Building Control Authority in Orangi Town No. 5, where more than 100 illegally constructed shops were demolished.

Officials said the land had originally been allocated for a hospital project but was taken over by an encroachment network and used for commercial activities.
Authorities confirmed that the land had remained under illegal occupation for around 40 years, during which multiple businesses operated on the site.

During the recent action, officials also confiscated goods from the demolished structures and issued warnings to prevent reoccupation.
The operation followed repeated requests from the Red Crescent Sindh leadership to senior Karachi officials, including the city administration and SBCA, urging recovery of the encroached property.

After coordination among relevant departments, enforcement teams finally cleared the site.
Officials added that the recovered land will now be used for its original purpose, with plans to construct a hospital to provide free medical services to residents of the area.
