Sindh University Minister Muhammad Ismail Rahu has launched a dog cull campaign in response to recent incidents where children and women have been attacked by stray dogs at the University of Karachi.
Minister Rahu requested an in-depth report from the University administration regarding incidents involving dog bites, and spoke to the Vice Chancellor to ensure swift implementation of preventative measures and swift actions to ensure student, staff, and visitor safety.

He instructed the Vice Chancellor to ensure that all entrances, exits, and campus areas undergo daily cleaning and sterilization to reduce risks of further attacks.
The Vice Chancellor assured the minister that treatment of those impacted, including children, is underway, and medical assistance will be given as soon as possible.

The minister noted that letters had been repeatedly sent to the Gulshan Town administration requesting that they launch a dog control and culling campaign to address their growing stray dog population.
He instructed the Gulshan Town administration to immediately launch a dog culling campaign, emphasizing its importance in safeguarding citizens and students against attacks by stray animals.

Authorities emphasized the necessity of taking proactive measures, such as sterilization, vaccination, and the removal of stray dogs, to maintain safety on university campuses. Priority will be given to constant monitoring and coordination with local administrations.
