The federal government has introduced a unified digital police character certificate system, aiming to simplify verification procedures for job seekers, visa applicants, and Pakistanis planning to travel abroad.

According to reports, the Ministry of Interior has unified the previously separate provincial verification systems into a single national platform as part of broader digital governance reforms.
Under the new mechanism, citizens across Pakistan will now be able to obtain police character certificates online without visiting police stations or government offices.

Officials said the National Police Bureau has integrated police data from all four provinces, along with records from Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, into a centralized database.
The move marks the first time Pakistan’s police verification records have been consolidated under one national digital system.
Authorities believe the centralized platform will speed up background verification procedures while improving transparency and coordination among law enforcement departments.
