The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has announced a major update to the curriculum for Business and Management degree programs after a detailed review by the National Curriculum Revision Committee (NCRC).
The meeting, held at the Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences) in Peshawar, brought together leading academics and subject experts from universities across Pakistan.
The review was supported by HEC’s Curriculum Division to ensure that the programs meet both national and international academic standards.

The revised curriculum includes BBA, BS, MBA, EMBA, MS, and Associate Degree programs.
According to HEC, the updated framework is designed to match modern market needs, global benchmarks, and industry expectations while improving academic quality and practical learning outcomes.

The HEC further stated that the changes are aligned with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and HEC’s Undergraduate and Graduate Education Policies 2023.
The session was chaired by Dr. Naukhez Sarwar, Professor and Principal of NUST Business School, who served as Convener, while Dr. Farooq-e-Azam Cheema, Provost of KSBL Karachi, acted as Co-Convener.
Hidayatullah Kasi, Deputy Director at HEC, functioned as the Secretary of the NCRC meeting.
HEC officials noted that the revision reflects their ongoing efforts to ensure Pakistani graduates are well-prepared to meet global challenges and contribute effectively to the country’s economic growth.
