In a move to provide transparency and fairness in traffic violation fines, Sindh police announced that the faceless e‑challan system will launch from October 1 in Karachi.
The Additional Inspector General of Karachi, Javed Alam Odho, stated that the faceless e-challan system will reduce human interference, and the violation fines will be issued with video and photographic evidence.
The system, after recording the traffic violation, delivers evidence-based e‑challans automatically to the violators’ addresses across the city.
AIG police emphasized that the new system ensures unbiased enforcement and strengthens accountability in the police department.

He stressed that heavy vehicles found violating laws will face not only fines but also legal action and impoundment.
Odho revealed that the heavy transport association has agreed to install protective grills and cameras in vehicles. He reiterated that all drivers must follow traffic laws. He warned that violations will bring strict consequences under the new enforcement system.
Discussing the city’s transport infrastructure, he said that Karachi requires dedicated freeways for heavy traffic. Separate routes are needed to connect the port and industrial zones.
He confirmed that work is underway with relevant institutions on a long-term plan to control heavy traffic movement. This plan aims to prevent congestion.
He added that police measures have contributed to a decline in crime across Karachi. However, he pointed out that damaged roads remain a leading cause of accidents, especially after monsoon rains.
Welcoming the mayor’s announcement to repair 106 roads, he said the step will provide major relief to citizens.
