Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, warned during a National Assembly (NA) speech that, ‘if we ignore Israeli aggression against Iran today, there will be no one left when they come for Pakistan.’
Bilawal condemned Israel’s recent airstrikes on Iran, calling them a violation of international law. He said civilians, scientists, and journalists were targeted while sleeping in their homes.
He criticised the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, calling it the most dangerous. Any radiation leak would affect not only Iran but also neighbouring countries, including Pakistan.
Bilawal accused Israel and the United States (US) of using false claims to start wars, like they did before invading Iraq. He warned that history is repeating itself with Iran.
He urged Pakistan’s Foreign Minister to form a group of countries to oppose attacks on nuclear sites. These attacks, he said, cannot be accepted under any circumstances.
Bilawal quoted the famous World War II poem, saying silence over injustice leads to tragedy. He noted that the world ignored crimes in Palestine, Lebanon, and Yemen.
He demanded an end to Israel’s regional aggression, terming it genocidal and apartheid-driven. Bilawal called for peace and stressed that forced starvation in Gaza must stop.
Turning to India, Bilawal said Pakistan defeated a “cheaper copy” of Netanyahu militarily and diplomatically. He said six Indian jets were downed during the recent Pakistan-India conflict.
He said the world now recognises that Kashmir is an international issue, not India’s internal matter. He praised the government’s efforts in reviving global attention to Kashmir.
He warned that India’s threat to cancel the Indus Water Treaty could lead to war. Bilawal said any halt to water flow is illegal and unacceptable.
He stated India failed in its plan to label Pakistan a terrorist state. Despite lobbying at global forums, India could not block Pakistan’s diplomatic progress.
Bilawal praised Pakistan’s Foreign Office and military, saying even Washington acknowledged Pakistan’s role in fighting terrorism. He said Pakistan was gaining respect across the world.
Bilawal supported the government’s 20 percent increase in defense spending and welcomed the 20 percent rise in Benazir Income Support Programme to help the poor in tough times.
He appreciated tax relief for the salaried class and said PPP backed the budget after consultations, unlike last year. He called this democratic politics, not blind opposition.
He concluded by saying that no one can defeat Pakistan’s peaceful narrative and urged unity against threats like Israeli attacks in the Middle East.
