A speeding dumper crushed a vehicle on Karachi’s Rashid Minhas Road late Wednesday night, killing a woman and a seven-year-old girl, while the driver and another passenger sustained injuries.
The accident occurred near the Shahrea Faisal police station jurisdiction when a sand-loaded speeding dumper lost control and overturned onto a double cabin vehicle.
The double cabin, bearing number KT-9478, was completely crushed under the dumper. As per media reports the speeding dumber was coming at high speed from the Malir area despite a gravel transport ban.
Volunteers from Chhipa, Edhi, Rescue 1122, traffic police, and Rangers rushed to the site. The road from Millennium Mall to Sharea Faisal was closed for several hours during the rescue operation.
Chhipa officials removed the double cabin driver, who survived with minor injuries. Another woman was critically injured and shifted to Jinnah Hospital, then later to a private hospital on Stadium Road.

The deceased woman was identified as 55-year-old Shaheena Naeem. The child, Aisha D/o Khurram, was just seven years old. Injured 30-year-old Anam is also a family member from Scheme 33.
According to Chhipa Foundation spokesperson Chaudhry Shahid, the incident happened around 3:00 am. Witnesses informed volunteers that the dumper driver appeared drunk and fled the scene after the crash.
Meanwhile, Police stated that the dumper driver managed to escape and efforts are underway to trace him. The dumper has been impounded and moved to the police station for further investigation.
Despite Section 144 imposed by Commissioner Karachi banning gravel movement from District Malir, illegal dumper operations reportedly continue unchecked from Malir to various city points, including Gadap and Ghaghar Phatak.
Officials confirmed that driver negligence and overspeeding caused the accident. The dumper climbed the sidewalk while overtaking from the left, leading to the deadly crash.
