The federal government has announced an extension to the application deadline for the regular Hajj scheme, which will now remain open till Sunday. Additionally, the deadline for the sponsorship Hajj scheme has also been extended until April 9th.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs revealed that this decision was made after considering the difficulties faced by overseas Pakistanis in sending their remittances. He explained that the remittances need to be sent to the dollar account of the Ministry of Religious Affairs through TT or wire transfer, and applicants or their relatives must maintain contact with the concerned bank for verification and processing.
The spokesperson added that successful applicants who apply under the sponsorship Hajj scheme will be chosen without balloting. He further stated that designated banks will be open on Saturdays and Sundays to receive Hajj applications.
These measures have been taken to facilitate those wishing to perform Hajj and to ensure that the application process is not hindered by any unnecessary hurdles. The government hopes that this extension will provide more opportunities for people to participate in the Hajj pilgrimage, which is a significant religious and spiritual obligation for Muslims around the world.
