K-Electric has scheduled maintenance-related power interruptions across Karachi on October 9, 2026, with 47 feeders out of the utility’s total 2,129 feeders expected to be affected.

According to the power company, the outages are part of its routine maintenance programme, which is aimed at upgrading the distribution system and improving the reliability and stability of electricity supplies.
The scheduled shutdowns will take place at different times depending on the feeder and the maintenance requirements. The affected areas may experience outages at various points between 8am and 6pm.
K-Electric emphasized that these interruptions have been planned in advance and are separate from unexpected outages caused by equipment faults, tripping or high electricity demand. Power supply is expected to resume after the required maintenance work has been completed.
Areas That May Experience Outages
Residents, commercial establishments and other consumers supplied by the affected feeders may face temporary electricity disruptions during the scheduled maintenance periods.
The utility has urged customers in the relevant areas to check the maintenance timetable beforehand and plan accordingly, especially if their household or business activities depend on continuous electricity.
K-Electric said the maintenance programme forms part of its wider efforts to strengthen Karachi’s power distribution infrastructure and enhance the quality and reliability of electricity services throughout the city.

If Your Area Is Affected
- Charge phones, laptops, and any backup devices ahead of the scheduled window.
- If you rely on an electric water pump, fill storage tanks before the outage begins.
- Avoid opening fridges/freezers unnecessarily during the outage to keep food cold longer.
Power should restore automatically at the listed end time – if it doesn’t come back within an hour of the scheduled end, that likely indicates a separate fault, not the planned maintenance.
