Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has approved an increase in the monthly stipend for postgraduate trainee doctors working in KMC hospitals.

The KMC postgraduate doctors stipend increase was announced through an official notification issued by the Human Resources Management Department, enhancing the stipend to Rs 104,390 per month.
According to the notification, the decision was made in pursuance of Council Resolution No. 241 dated September 11, 2026.
The Finance Department of the Government of Sindh also issued Notification No. FD(SR-III)5-77/2016 dated November 28, 2022.
The KMC postgraduate doctors stipend increase brings the stipend for FCPS and MCPS trainees on par with other government hospitals across Sindh.
The decision will benefit postgraduate trainee doctors currently working at KMC Hospital and its affiliated facilities, including Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
This step ensures that doctors serving in KMC hospitals receive compensation equal to their counterparts in other provincial government health institutions.
The administration is working to address long-standing concerns of medical staff and ensure better working conditions.
Back in the month of June 2026, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has announced the development of a Mangrove and Biodiversity Park along with a Learning Centre at China Creek, as part of ongoing efforts to improve the city’s environment.
The project is aimed at making Karachi a greener and more sustainable city.
“The plantation and conservation of mangroves will help protect the coastal belt from erosion, climate change impacts, and natural disasters,” said Mayor Karachi.
