Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has called on the Sindh government to either accept responsibility or clarify who is behind the digging of trenches, placement of containers and closure of roads along his route to Karachi.

Addressing supporters on Hyderabad Road, Afridi said he would proceed towards Karachi, the capital of Sindh, after Hyderabad.
The KP chief minister said Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had welcomed him a day earlier, but alleged that trenches were subsequently being dug along their routes, containers were being placed and roads were being blocked.
Afridi questioned the Sindh government over the measures and said the people of Sindh would not accept such treatment of guests.
“If the Sindh government is carrying out these actions, it should accept responsibility. If it is not behind them, it should clearly explain who is doing this,” the KP chief minister said.
He reiterated that the Sindh government should either take responsibility for the road blockades or provide a clear explanation about who ordered the measures.
Afridi also called on his supporters to maintain their enthusiasm and spirit until September 27.
The KP chief minister is continuing his movement towards Karachi, where security arrangements and road closures have affected traffic along parts of the route.
It is worth noting here that security arrangements around Mazar-e-Quaid have been further tightened amid the prevailing security situation, according to the East Police spokesperson.
The spokesperson said public gatherings, rallies and processions will not be permitted in the vicinity of the mausoleum.
Police warned that any gathering held without prior permission would result in legal action in accordance with the law.
According to East Police, additional personnel have been deployed around Mazar-e-Quaid as part of enhanced security measures.
Surveillance has also been intensified at the entry and exit points of the mausoleum to monitor movement and prevent any potential security threat.
Earlier in the day, Karachi Traffic Police has issued a road closure alert for motorists, announcing the temporary closure of key routes around Society Signal due to security measures.
According to the announcement, traffic has been diverted around Society Signal in District East as authorities have temporarily closed several roads due to security arrangements.
According to the Karachi Traffic Police, the road from Society Signal towards Ayesha Aziz on Kashmir Road has been closed to traffic in both directions.
