The index remained volatile during the session, touching an intraday high of 175,418.29 and a low of 174,515.38, reflecting continued two-way trading across the market.
Trading activity remained robust, with 259.37 million shares changing hands in the KSE-100 market segment, while the traded value stood at approximately Rs16.29 billion.
Across the broader exchange, total volume reached 874.32 million shares, with traded value recorded at Rs32.42 billion. The market recorded 388,598 trades.

Market breadth remained relatively balanced. Of the 569 stocks traded, 235 advanced, while 218 declined and 116 remained unchanged, indicating that gains in the benchmark were accompanied by selective rather than broad-based buying.
Trading was dominated by a handful of high-volume stocks. CNERGY led the volume chart with 149.30 million shares, although its price fell Rs0.54 to Rs13.92. The stock traded between Rs13.17 and Rs14.46 during the session.

TISL was the second-most actively traded stock, with 132.41 million shares changing hands. The scrip gained Rs0.42 to Rs4.36, after moving between Rs4.10 and Rs4.78.
WTL followed with 78.72 million shares, closing at Rs1.13 after trading as high as Rs1.17 and as low as Rs1.11.
Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) came under selling pressure, declining Rs6.30 to Rs98.71. The stock recorded a session high of Rs105 and a low of Rs94.51, with 58.53 million shares traded. In contrast, ASL advanced Rs0.51 to Rs16.59 on volume of 35.37 million shares.

Among other actively traded stocks, FNEL gained Rs0.02 to Rs1.18, with 25.99 million shares traded, while MDTL rose Rs1.00 to Rs6.66, with turnover of 25.87 million shares.
Overall, Friday’s session ended with the benchmark in positive territory, although the relatively even balance between advancing and declining stocks suggested that investor participation remained selective across individual sectors and scrips.
A day earlier, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) trading session marginally higher, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining 153.09 points, or 0.09%, to settle at 174,929.68 points.
The index had closed at 174,776.59 points in the previous session. During Thursday’s trading, the benchmark touched an intraday high of 175,796.24 points and a low of 174,893.67 points, reflecting a relatively narrow trading range around the previous close.
Trading activity remained strong, with 192.17 million shares changing hands in KSE-100 stocks, while their traded value stood at approximately Rs13.13 billion.
