Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Azad Khan on Tuesday suspended two Station House Officers (SHOs) over alleged failures to control crime and maintain law and order in their respective jurisdictions.

The suspended officers were identified as SHO Sachal Wilayat Ali Shah and SHO New Town Gul Hassan Kalhoro. According to reports, SHO Sachal Wilayat Ali Shah was suspended over his alleged failure to curb robberies in the area.
He was also accused of misrepresenting facts to senior officials. Departmental action has been formally initiated against the officer.
New Town SHO Suspended Over Extortion Allegation
SHO New Town Gul Hassan Kalhoro was also suspended following allegations of extortion involving a hearing-impaired individual.
He was additionally accused of failing to maintain law and order in his jurisdiction. Departmental proceedings have also been initiated against Kalhoro as authorities examine the allegations against him.

Earlier to this, police officials allegedly involved in the reported assault of a woman and her family in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) have reportedly been identified as authorities continue their inquiry into the incident.
According to reports, the controversy emerged after CCTV footage allegedly showing the assault surfaced on social media, raising questions over the conduct of police personnel reportedly present at the scene.

According to police officials, the two policemen seen in the CCTV footage have reportedly been identified as Haider and Saqib, both posted at Korangi Police Station and belonging to Korangi District.
The two officials were reportedly summoned to Korangi Police Station on Sunday, where their statements were recorded by the head moharrir. They also reportedly appeared before the DIG South as part of the ongoing inquiry.
