The index opened under pressure and traded between an intraday high of 177,800.28 and a low of 176,375.00, before ending below the previous close of 176,975.67.
Trading activity remained robust, with total market volume reported at 784.47 million shares. The value of traded shares stood at Rs37.41 billion, while 396,451 trades were recorded during the session.

Cnergyico PK Ltd (CNERGY) emerged as the volume leader, with 191.73 million shares changing hands. The stock closed at Rs15.00, down from its previous level, after trading between Rs14.85 and Rs15.55.
Pakistan Refinery Ltd (PRL) was the second-most active stock, with 58.15 million shares traded. The stock closed at Rs104.88, recording a gain of Rs0.46, after touching an intraday high of Rs108.80 and a low of Rs100.11.
WorldCall Telecom Ltd (WTL) recorded 40.78 million shares in volume and closed at Rs1.16, while Pakistan International Bulk Terminal Ltd (PIBTL) traded 39.68 million shares and ended at Rs16.49, up Rs0.26.
Among other actively traded stocks, Unity Foods Ltd (UNITY) closed at Rs9.12, down Rs0.86, on volume of 26.62 million shares. TPL Corp Ltd (TPL) gained Rs0.37 to close at Rs23.79, with 24.37 million shares traded.

Bank of Punjab (BOP) was also among the actively traded counters, closing at Rs34.43, down Rs0.56, on turnover of 22.46 million shares.
A day earlier, PSX closed lower with the benchmark KSE-100 Index shedding 720.83 points, or 0.41%, amid a broadly negative trading session.
The index settled at 176,975.67, compared with the previous close of 177,696.50. During the session, the benchmark touched an intraday high of 178,138.68 and a low of 176,944.91, indicating continued volatility around the 177,000 level.
