Pakistan’s passport is currently ranked 100th in the latest Henley Passport Index, providing visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or electronic travel authorisation (ETA) access to 30 destinations worldwide.

According to the latest international mobility report, the Pakistani passport briefly improved to 97th place in February 2026 before returning to 100th following changes in global visa policies and bilateral travel arrangements.
Despite the decline, it remains in a stronger position than its 103rd-place ranking at the end of 2025.

For Pakistani passport holders, travel access is generally divided into three categories: visa-free entry, visa-on-arrival (VOA), and electronic travel authorization (ETA).
Visa-Free Destinations:
Citizens can enter the following countries on arrival with a valid biometric passport and proceed through immigration: Barbados, Cook Islands, Dominica, Haiti, Micronesia, Montserrat, Rwanda, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, The Gambia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vanuatu.

Visa-on-Arrival Destinations:
Pakistani citizens are eligible for a visa on arrival (VOA) in 16 countries and territories: Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Comoros, Djibouti, Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar, Maldives, Nepal, Niue, Palau, Samoa, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Timor-Leste, and Tuvalu.
Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) Destinations:
Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA): Pakistani travellers can obtain an ETA before departure for Kenya, Seychelles, and Sri Lanka.
According to the Henley Passport Index, passport rankings are based on the number of destinations accessible without obtaining a traditional visa before travel. Pakistan currently ranks ahead of Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan in terms of travel freedom.
Meanwhile, the Singapore passport remains the world’s strongest, offering visa-free access to 192 destinations.

Authorities have also completed the nationwide rollout of biometric e-passports, featuring an embedded microchip and a secure polycarbonate data page designed to improve security and facilitate future international travel agreements.
Travellers are advised to ensure their passports remain valid for at least six months beyond their intended departure date, as this is a common requirement for most visa-free and visa-on-arrival destinations.
