The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a temporary suspension of gas supply to the industrial sector across Sindh for 24 hours due to a shortfall in the system.
According to the company, the move has been taken to improve gas pressure and ensure a fair distribution of available supply among different consumer categories.

SSGC spokesperson Salman Siddiqui said the company is committed to improving gas pressure for consumers and is taking necessary steps to manage the limited supply.
He added that the decision was made due to a shortage in the system to ensure equitable distribution and improve line pack.
“According to the schedule, gas supply to all industrial consumers, including captive power plants, will remain suspended from 8:00am on Sunday, April 12, 2026, to 8:00am on Monday, April 13,” said the statement.

The company said the temporary shutdown is part of its efforts to stabilise the system while making sure that priority sectors continue to receive gas supply.
SSGC also noted that such planned load management measures are necessary to deal with supply and demand gaps, especially during periods of high usage. It added that domestic consumers and essential services remain the top priority.
The utility further explained that these steps help maintain system stability and ensure better pressure across the network.
