Two people lost their lives after an oil tanker crash near the Mianwali Colony F-11 bus stop in Karachi, police confirmed on Sunday.

According to authorities, the accident occurred in the Manghopir area when a fast-moving oil tanker reportedly suffered a brake failure.

Police said another oil tanker was already parked on the roadside due to a mechanical fault when the speeding tanker coming from behind rammed into it with force. During the collision, a dumper truck was also caught in the crash.

As a result of the incident, two individuals died on the spot. The deceased were later identified as Lal Man Shah, 70, son of Zairuddin, and Asadullah, 25, son of Bismillah Khan.

Rescue teams shifted the bodies to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital through ambulances.

Police officials stated that both tanker drivers fled the scene after the accident, and a search operation is underway to locate them. Authorities also confirmed that both tankers were loaded with diesel, raising concerns about a possible risk.

To prevent any further danger, police cleared the area and kept the public away from the crash site while investigations continue.

Officials said they are trying to trace the tanker owners and determine which vehicle caused the fatal injuries.
