The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has announced the examination schedule for Class 9 and Class 10 annual exams 2026.
As per the official announcement, the annual examinations will begin on April 7, 2026, and will conclude on April 24, 2026.

New Grading System
The Board of Secondary Education has announced new passing criteria for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams, raising the minimum passing marks from 33 percent to 40 percent for Class IX students.

This change will be implemented from the annual exams starting April 7, 2026. For Class X, the new passing marks will be enforced from the 2027 annual exams.
According to the updated grading system, students will now need to score at least 40 percent in all theory and practical papers to pass.

For example, in a 100-mark theory paper, the passing mark has increased from 33 to 40. Similarly, for 75-mark papers, the passing marks are now 30, and for 60-mark papers, it is 24. Practical papers with 15 total marks now require at least 6 marks to pass.
This new passing threshold aims to improve educational standards by encouraging better performance and understanding among students.
The revised system aligns with the new grading policies introduced by education boards.
