The Karachi Traffic Police has finalized a special traffic management plan for Ramadan to ensure smooth flow across the city.
The plan aims to reduce congestion during peak hours before iftar and help citizens reach home on time.

Water Tanker Ban Before Iftar
According to the DIG Traffic, water tankers will be banned in Karachi from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm daily before iftar. The restriction is intended to ease traffic pressure on major roads during rush hours.
Crackdown on Encroachments and Illegal Parking
Traffic police announced strict action against footpath encroachments, illegal parking, pushcarts, and rickshaws that disrupt traffic flow. Authorities said maintaining smooth movement across the city is a top priority during Ramadan.
Rickshaws will not be allowed to enter busy markets in the port city during the holy month. Additionally, 26 routes for Qingqi rickshaws will remain restricted.
Sindh mandates new rule for obtaining driving license
A zero-tolerance policy has also been announced for vehicles and motorcycles without number plates. Motorcycles involved in double or triple parking will have their wheels chained. The locks will only be removed after the issuance of an e-challan.
Special Deployment and Digital Monitoring
Under the Ramadan traffic plan, special traffic personnel will be deployed at major roads, intersections, and key junctions across Karachi.
SSPs will remain present in the field, while DSPs will monitor operations from the control room to ensure effective management.

To strengthen enforcement, traffic officers will use modern tablets to issue digital e-challans, ensuring transparency and better compliance throughout Ramadan.
