However, Noor Zaman staged a remarkable comeback, winning the next two games to level the match and force a decisive fifth game.
The final game became controversial when Dessouky disagreed with decisions made by a Pakistani referee Sajjad Khan.
Frustrated, the Egyptian player walked off the court before the game could conclude.
At the end of the match, Dessouky shook hands with Noor but then stormed off, warning that he would file a complaint against the referee.
Following the walkout, the referee awarded the match to Noor Zaman, securing his spot in the quarterfinals.
