The officials of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) penned down a letter seeking permission from authorities to hold a public meeting in Karachi during the visit of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM), Sohail Afridi to the metropolis.
In the letter, the president of PTI Karachi chapter Raja Azhar and Secretary General Arsalan Khalid requested permission from the Deputy Commissioner East to organize a public meeting on Sunday, January 11 at Bagh-e-Jinnah adjacent to the Mazar-e-Quaid.
The party officials assured that the gathering would be peaceful and would comply with the prescribed code of conduct.

“The party will wait for a positive decision from the district administration,” the letter reads.

Earlier, media reports indicated that PTI leader and KP CM Sohail Afridi is planning to visit Sindh, with both provincial administrations coordinating to ensure adherence to protocol and a smooth visit.
According to media reports, the Sindh government contacted PTI leadership to discuss arrangements for the visit.
Sindh Minister Nasir Hussain Shah reportedly reached out to PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh, assuring him that Sohail Afridi would be welcomed in Sindh and extended the required protocol.

Nasir Hussain Shah reportedly stated that situations similar to those witnessed in Punjab would not arise in Sindh, adding that the decision had the support of the party’s senior leadership.
Haleem Adil Sheikh confirmed the communication and said he conveyed the Sindh government’s message to Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
Media reports further said that Sohail Afridi appreciated the gesture by the Sindh authorities but clarified that he did not seek any special protocol.

He also stressed that political activities should be permitted in Sindh under the constitution and that he should be allowed to meet party workers.
Media reports added that Sohail Afridi is also likely to meet Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah during the visit.
The Sindh government has assured that all arrangements will be made in accordance with the law to ensure a smooth and constitutionally compliant visit.
