Karachi traffic police have issued a detailed plan for Sea View traffic arrangements on New Year night, aiming to manage congestion and ensure public safety.

According to the press release issued by the Deputy Inspector General of Police Traffic Karachi, heavy crowds are expected at Sea View, Bagh-Ibn-Qasim, and Clifton on New Year’s Eve.

The Sea View traffic arrangements will come into effect from the intervening night of December 31, 2025, and January 1, 2026.

Traffic police announced that Sea View Road will be converted into a one way route from McDonald’s to the Clock Tower to manage flow of traffic efficiently.

Authorities clarified that no traffic will be allowed to return from Clock Tower towards McDonald’s under the New Year traffic plan.

Vehicles returning from Sea View will be diverted through Khayaban-e-Ittehad Road and Do Darya Road to reduce congestion and prevent traffic gridlocks.

The traffic police further announced restrictions on heavy vehicles to ensure smooth movement for citizens celebrating the New Year.

Water tankers, dumpers, trawlers, trucks, and other heavy traffic will only be allowed to enter the city after two am, according to officials.

Strict action will be taken against drivers using broken silencers or motorcycles without silencers during New Year celebrations, the press release warned.

Traffic police stated that negligent and reckless drivers will be handed over to local police stations for legal action without any leniency.

Officials stressed that these measures are necessary to maintain peace, reduce noise pollution, and prevent accidents during crowded festivities.

Citizens have been advised to follow traffic instructions carefully and cooperate with officers deployed across Sea View and nearby locations.
