Karachi authorities have confirmed that Seaview Road will remain open for citizens, easing public concerns ahead of large gatherings expected along the coastline tonight.
Like many global cities, Karachi welcomes the New Year with enthusiasm, as thousands of residents traditionally head toward Seaview to mark the occasion with family and friends.

In previous years, Seaview Road was often closed due to security concerns, crowd control challenges, and past incidents that raised safety questions among both authorities and citizens.
This year, however, officials have decided to keep Seaview Road accessible, while simultaneously implementing strict security and law enforcement measures to ensure public safety.
According to SSP South, Seaview Road will stay open throughout the New Year celebrations, allowing Karachi residents to freely visit the area without facing road closures.

The official highlighted that while access is permitted, authorities will adopt a zero-tolerance policy against any activities that threaten public order or safety.

Special attention will be given to preventing aerial firing, which has remained a serious concern during festive occasions in the city.
The SSP warned that anyone involved in aerial firing will face strict legal consequences, including registration of cases under attempted murder provisions.

He further stated that one-wheeling, another dangerous activity often reported during celebrations, will also not be tolerated under any circumstances.
To maintain law and order, more than 2,000 police personnel have been deployed along Seaview Road and surrounding areas.
