Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced a one-week extension in the deadline for submitting bids for two new Pakistan Super League teams, pointing to strong interest from international investors.

The revised deadline for bid submissions is now December 22, 2025.

Naqvi shared the update on his official social media account X (formerly known as Twitter), highlighting the increasing attention the league is receiving from overseas markets.

“Witnessing growing interest from the Europe, USA, the Middle East and beyond in acquiring new HBL PSL teams, we have decided to extend the bid submission deadline by one week to 22 December 2025,” Naqvi wrote.

“Good luck to everyone excited to welcome our new franchise owners to the HBL PSL family.”

The decision follows a well-received roadshow held at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, where a large number of investors showed interest in owning the two new franchises.

According to PCB officials, the event drew significant attention and positive engagement from potential buyers.

As part of its global outreach, the PCB is set to host another roadshow in New York on Saturday, December 13.

The move is aimed at further engaging international investors ahead of the auction, which is scheduled for January 6 next year.

The PSL, which started in 2016 with five teams, expanded to six franchises in 2018.

The addition of two new teams in the league’s 11th edition will bring the total number of franchises to eight.

This expansion will mark the PSL’s first major structural change in seven years, reflecting the league’s growth and rising appeal on the global cricket stage.
