The Sindh government has decided to introduce a digital e-challan system in the Sindh Food Authority, marking a major step toward efficient enforcement and improved public services in the province’s food regulation sector.
The move was announced during a meeting between Sindh Food Minister Makhdoom Mehboob-uz-Zaman and PPP Women’s Central President Faryal Talpur, where officers presented a detailed briefing on modernizing the authority.

Officials explained that the Sindh Food Authority e-challan system will be modeled on successful digital challaning, ensuring swift action against violations, transparent monitoring, and reduced chances of manual errors or administrative delays.
Minister Mehboob-uz-Zaman said the digitalization plan includes online registration for food businesses, an upgraded complaint management platform, and a fully automated challan system designed to streamline daily operations across multiple administrative divisions.

He highlighted that the Sindh Food Authority’s transformation aims to improve public service delivery by introducing transparent and reliable systems that allow citizens to submit grievances, track cases, and receive timely responses without bureaucratic hurdles.
During the meeting, the provincial minister also briefed Faryal Talpur about the department’s ongoing actions against substandard food items, noting that strict inspections were being conducted across markets and manufacturing units.
