Turkiye plans to set up a facility in Pakistan to assemble combat drones, part of Ankara’s drive to boost its defense industry in international markets, as per Bloomberg’s report – quoting Turkish officials.
According to a Bloomberg report, the facility will assemble advanced military drones using parts exported from Turkiye.
These include stealth-capable systems and long-range models designed for modern battlefield requirements and regional security needs.

The report stated that the initiative is part of Turkiye’s broader plan to involve Pakistan in its fifth-generation fighter aircraft programme.
The report also highlighted ongoing cooperation between the countries’ defence industries. Under a joint production agreement, Turkiye is assisting Pakistan in manufacturing naval combat vessels for the Navy, expanding maritime capabilities and operational strength.
In addition, Turkish experts have upgraded dozens of Pakistan’s F-16 fighter aircraft. Defence officials described these upgrades as important improvements that enhance performance, air power, and overall mission readiness across multiple operational domains.
Turkiye’s defence exports have grown by 30 percent over the past 11 months, reaching a record $7.5 billion in 2025, the report claimed.

Turkish Aerospace Industries, which set up its first office in Pakistan in 2019, continues supplying equipment under a major contract worth $1.5 billion. The agreement includes 30 ATA aircraft and more than 1,200 helicopters for Pakistan’s security forces.
The international media outlet reported that officials from both countries believe the joint projects show growing capability, improved production quality, and the reliability of the Pakistan – Türkiye defence partnership.
They added that this cooperation boosts regional stability and long-term strategic alignment.

Earlier this month, Turkiye’s Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar visited Pakistan’s General Headquarters, where he met the Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir. The ISPR said both sides discussed collaboration in energy and defence.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties, increasing cooperation in priority sectors and exploring new areas for strategic partnership. Leaders reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation for shared objectives and wider regional stability.
