The Ashes will return this winter as Australia and England face off in a five-match Test series across Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney from November 21, 2025, to January 8, 2026.

Australia enters the series as the favorites and the current holders, having not lost the urn in the past ten years.

The first Test will begin in Perth at 7:20 am PST, followed by a 9:00 am PST start for the second Test.

The remaining three Tests in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney will begin at 4:30 am PST.

Australia retained the Ashes the last time the two teams met in 2023, when the series in England ended in a 2–2 draw under Pat Cummins’ captaincy.

Australia also won 4–0 at home in 2021–22, drew 2–2 in 2019, and claimed another 4–0 victory in 2017–18.

England’s most recent Ashes victory came in 2015, when they won the series 3–2 under Alastair Cook.

England have announced their full squad for the upcoming series, while Australia have named their squad for the first Test.

Australia have won 152, England have won 112, and 97 matches have ended in a draw.

In Australia, the home side has dominated with 99 wins, compared to England’s 55.

Australia also leads in overall Ashes series victories with 34 wins, while England have won 32.

Seven series have ended in a draw, and on six of those occasions, Australia kept the urn as the holders.

Don Bradman remains the highest run-scorer in Ashes history with 5,028 runs at an average of 89.78.

Among active players, Steve Smith leads with 3417 runs in 37 matches, averaging 56.01, including twelve centuries and thirteen fifties.

From the current England squad, Joe Root has the most Ashes runs with 2428 in 34 matches, including four centuries and eighteen fifties.

In bowling, Shane Warne is the leading wicket-taker among all Ashes bowlers with 195 scalps in 36 matches.

Among active players, Nathan Lyon leads with 110 wickets, while CR Woakes tops England’s list with 46 wickets.

Both teams will be relying on their batting depth, with England depending on their top seven, while Australia will be hoping Marnus Labuschagne carries his strong domestic form into international cricket.

Australia enters the series as favorites, having dominated the Ashes since 2015 and remaining unbeaten at home in Tests against the English side for the past 14 years.
