A tragic incident occurred at Manora Himalayan Beach where three students from Dow Medical College drowned during a final-year celebration picnic.
The university administration stated that around 150 final-year students from Dow Medical College had gathered earlier in the morning for a picnic at Karachi’s Hawkes Bay Beach under the supervision of university security guards.

As part of the day’s festivities, a small group of about 15 students decided to visit Manora Himalayan Beach separately.
According to the report, one student drowned while bathing in the sea, prompting several others to rush in to rescue him. Unfortunately, the strong waves led to multiple students being swept away.

The university administration confirmed that five more students drowned while attempting to save their classmate, resulting in a total of three confirmed deaths and several others rescued in an unconscious state.
The deceased have been identified as Syed Ashhad Fatemi, Asharib Munir, and Ahmed Kashif, all belonging to the final-year batch of Dow Medical College, Karachi said the official statement from the administration.

Rescue operations were immediately launched, and emergency teams managed to retrieve six students from the water, with three of them found unconscious and rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Doctors later reported that one of the rescued students remains in critical condition and has been shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) for emergency treatment and observation.
