Pakistan has now reached the top position globally in diabetes cases, with over 30 million patients diagnosed across the country.
To raise awareness about prevention and treatment, the third Diabetes Conference was recently held in Faisalabad.
Organized by the Pakistan Society of Medicine, the conference brought together leading medical experts who expressed serious concern over the rapidly increasing number of diabetes patients in Pakistan.

During the conference, doctors highlighted that 50 percent of patients visiting hospitals, whether private or government, are diagnosed with diabetes or its complications.
They warned that the disease is affecting people at an alarming rate, even among the younger population.
Experts also noted that the consumption of unhealthy, low-quality foods is contributing to the rise of diabetes among children and teenagers.
Additionally, scientists cautioned that certain foods, including some types of cheese, can increase the risk of Type 2 diabetes.
Medical professionals urged the public to adopt healthier diets, regular exercise, and routine health checkups to help combat this growing health crisis.
