Pakistan middle-order batter Azam Khan has expressed concern over growing insecurity among players, blaming media pressure and internal leaks for creating an unhealthy atmosphere in the national setup.
Speaking on theUltra Edge Podcast, Azam said that young players lose confidence when they see how top performers like Babar Azam are treated.

“When young players see how Babar is handled, they think, ‘If Babar doesn’t matter, then I’m no one,’” he said.
Azam highlighted that social media often influences team selection discussions, adding that “some reporters post one thing, others say something else, and it creates chaos.”
He criticized players who share confidential information with journalists, calling such acts a betrayal.

“I’m friends with journalists too, but if I leak team matters, that makes me a traitor,” he said firmly.
Recalling a past incident, Azam shared that his failure in a two-kilometre fitness test during the Kakul camp was leaked online.

“It was disappointing because such things should stay within the team,” he added.
The 27-year-old further urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to take strict action against those responsible for leaking internal news.
“If someone leaks information, they should lose their contract and face consequences,” Azam concluded.
