Pakistan recently unveiled an innovative digital facility allowing citizens to pay their passport fees quickly online in just one minute – a key step toward modernising public services.

According to the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, their recently implemented system will eliminate long lines at National Bank branches for fee submission.

Officials confirmed that citizens can now pay their passport fees anytime and anywhere through either Passport Fee Asaan’s mobile application or Paymaster.com.pk’s official payment portal.

Passport Fee Asaan app and Paymaster website both offer digital payment solutions that enable passport fee payments via smartphone apps or browser-based digital payments.

Authorities explained that as part of the initial steps for applying, applicants are required to generate a Payment Slip ID or PSID using either their mobile app or the online portal.

Once their PSIDs have been created, users can pay them through banking services, ATM machines or digital wallets such as Easypaisa and JazzCash using 1Bill as payment option.

Officials noted that applicants must enter a prefix “999999” prior to typing their PSID number into the payment field for accurate passport fee transactions.

Once their online payment has been successfully verified, citizens may visit the nearest passport office to complete application formalities without waiting in bank lines for fee verification.

The system aims to reduce processing delays, minimise public inconvenience and foster cashless services across Pakistan’s documentation and identification networks.
