Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has been handed a two-match suspension, while India’s Suryakumar Yadav and several other players have been fined or given demerit points for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the Asia Cup 2025, the International Cricket Council confirmed on Tuesday.
Pakistan fast bowler has been suspended for two One Day Internationals after accumulating four demerit points within a 24-month period, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed on Tuesday.
According to the ICC press release, Rauf’s suspension comes as a result of repeated violations of Article 2.21 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which deals with behaviour that brings the game into disrepute.

The 31-year-old pacer was fined 30 percent of his match fee and handed two additional demerit points for his conduct during the Asia Cup final against India on September 28.
The hearing was conducted by ICC Match Referee Richie Richardson.

Rauf had earlier received two demerit points for a similar offence in the same tournament on September 21.
With the new penalty, his total reached four demerit points in less than a month, automatically converting into two suspension points under ICC’s disciplinary rules.
As a result, the fast bowler will miss Pakistan’s first two ODIs against South Africa, scheduled for November 4 and 6 in Faisalabad.

The ICC explained that Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50 percent of a player’s match fee, in addition to one or two demerit points.
When a player accumulates four or more demerit points within a 24-month period, they are converted into suspension points.
Two suspension points result in a ban from one Test match or two limited-overs matches.
Other players sanctioned during the Asia Cup 2025 included India’s Suryakumar Yadav, who was fined 30 percent of his match fee and given two demerit points for a breach of Article 2.21 during the September 14 clash.

Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan received an official warning and one demerit point for the same offence, while India’s Arshdeep Singh was cleared of a charge under Article 2.6 for allegedly using an obscene gesture.
In the final, India’s Jasprit Bumrah accepted a charge under Article 2.21 and received an official warning along with one demerit point.
