Shehbaz Sharif noted that this event ties in with Pakistan’s strategic goal of expanding maritime trade, shipbuilding, coastal development and regional collaboration and security in the Indian Ocean region.

The upcoming edition follows the successful inaugural PIMEC 2023, which drew delegations from over 14 countries, marking Pakistan’s entry into the circle of nations actively shaping maritime policy and sustainable ocean development.

Organizers say that this year’s event will not only double international participation but also introduce new focus areas, including marine technology, port infrastructure, logistics, shipbuilding, and renewable ocean energy.
