Multan Sultans have submitted a detailed set of reform proposals to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), aimed at improving governance, transparency, and partnership within the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to ensure its long-term success.
In a letter addressed to the PCB chairman, the franchise highlighted the recent tensions between the board and the teams, calling it an opportunity to rebuild trust, strengthen the system, and shape a more professional structure for the future of the league.
Ali Khan Tareen reaffirmed the franchise’s long-standing commitment to the PSL, stressing the need for fair decision-making and greater accountability.

The letter also raised concerns about ad-hoc decisions and limited administrative experience within the current setup.
The franchise presented key reform proposals:
Multan Sultans suggested that all franchises should be included in policy-making committees and working groups, particularly in areas such as scheduling, hiring, ticketing, marketing, and match-day operations. This, they said, would allow every stakeholder’s experience to contribute to better planning and execution.
The franchise emphasized that teams should have the right to provide input before key appointments are made, ensuring merit-based hiring that meets professional standards.

“The PSL has the potential to attract world-class talent, and we should not rely solely on former PCB employees,” the letter stated.
The Sultans proposed creating a defined organizational chart for departments such as operations, marketing, fan engagement, player affairs, and finance, each led by qualified and experienced executives.
The letter called for regular monthly meetings with pre-shared agendas, recorded minutes, and follow-up action points to increase transparency and trust in financial, operational, and marketing matters.

The franchise also stressed the importance of partnership over control, urging the PCB to work with all stakeholders in a collaborative spirit to enhance the PSL’s global reputation.
“This proposal emphasizes organized partnership and the alignment of all stakeholders under the shared goal of taking this globally popular league to the next level,” the letter read.
After nearly a decade of the PSL’s success, Multan Sultans believe the time has come to elevate the league further.
“After a successful decade, it’s time to take the PSL to the next level,” said Ali Khan Tareen.
