Did you get an e-challan and believe it was issued by mistake, you can officially challenge the decision through the city’s traffic facilitation centers, according to Karachi Traffic Police officials.

Since the introduction of the automated traffic monitoring system, high-tech cameras have begun detecting violations and issuing electronic challans to violators across Karachi.

However, the authorities do acknowledge that from time to time, technical glitches or incorrect readings due to number plate detection errors or camera faults may arise.

Karachi Traffic Police has established 11 facilitation centers throughout the city to allow motorists to lodge complaints or request a review of e-challans issued against them.

A three-person review committee consisting of an SSP, DSP, and a representative from the Citizen-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) will investigate the complaint and take steps to confirm or withdraw it from e-challans based on photographic or video evidence available through surveillance systems.

Unless the committee finds a technical error in an e-challan, or it will be officially cancelled, the driver must pay the fine within the remaining period.
