The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has released a new anthem titled “Qaum kay Shaheedo Tumhen Salam” (Salute to the Martyrs of the Nation), paying tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan.

Performed by singer Malik Sanan with lyrics penned by Ahmed Freed, the anthem serves as a moving salute to the nation’s heroes.

The military’s media wing described it as a heartfelt acknowledgment of “the brave sons of the soil who laid down their lives for Pakistan.”

According to the ISPR, the martyrs’ unwavering faith and courage will continue to inspire generations in their duty to protect the motherland.

The song also honours the martyrdom of innocent children and women, recognising their immense sacrifices in the face of violence.

The anthem’s release follows a series of cross-border attacks by Afghan Taliban and affiliated militant groups, which Pakistan’s armed forces recently repelled.

In their decisive response, Pakistani forces killed more than 200 militants, though 23 soldiers were martyred in the clashes.

Subsequently, both countries agreed to a temporary ceasefire on October 16, later extended until October 18. The truce was reached after delegations from Pakistan and Afghanistan met in Doha, Qatar, for urgent negotiations.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed via X that a ceasefire agreement had been finalised, adding that both sides would respect each other’s territorial sovereignty.

Dar also announced that the two nations would meet again in Istanbul, Turkiye, on October 25 to discuss the security situation and future cooperation in detail.
