The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted a major operation on Motorway M-5, seizing 4,000 kilograms of dead chicken meat being transported from Vehari to Karachi.
The PFA officials confirmed that the unhealthy and unfit meat was intended for use in several hotels across Karachi.
According to a PFA spokesperson, two suspects involved in supplying the meat were arrested at the scene, and legal cases have been registered against them.
The authority immediately destroyed the confiscated meat to prevent it from entering the food supply chain.
Initial investigations revealed that around 90 tons of dead and diseased chicken meat had been processed in Vehari and was being transported in multiple shipments to Karachi.
