The cyclonic storm ‘Shakhti’ over the Arabian Sea has weakened into a deep depression and poses no threat to Karachi, with the city expected to experience mostly sunny and humid weather today.
According to the meteorological department, the weather system now lies approximately 960 kilometers southwest of Karachi and is gradually weakening further.
It is expected to become a depression within six hours and eventually weaken into a low-pressure area over the next 12 hours while moving east-southeastwards away from the Pakistani coast.

Karachi will experience mostly sunny and humid conditions with maximum temperatures ranging between 33-35°C and minimum temperatures of 25-27°C.
Humidity levels will remain at 70-80% in the morning, dropping to 45-55% in the evening. Winds will blow from northwesterly direction, becoming west/southwesterly as the day progresses.
The weather outlook confirms that hot and dry conditions will prevail across most parts of Sindh province, with no significant weather systems expected to affect the region in the immediate forecast.
The dissipation of Cyclone Shakhti brings relief to coastal communities and fishing communities who can now resume activities with improving sea conditions.
