The Sindh government has announced plans to implement e-marking and automation systems across all educational boards in the province.
What is E-Marking and Automation System?
E-marking is a digital process where exam papers are scanned and evaluated electronically using specialized software instead of being checked manually by examiners.
Automation involves using technology to manage various tasks such as processing results, handling data entry, and generating reports automatically.
Together, these systems help make the examination process faster, more accurate, transparent, and reduce human errors and chances of cheating.
How Will It Work in Educational Boards?
In Sindh’s educational boards, the e-marking system will allow exam answer sheets to be scanned and sent to examiners on computers for digital evaluation.
Marks will be entered directly into the system, ensuring quicker and more reliable result processing.
Automation will streamline administrative tasks like result compilation and data management, making the entire process efficient and eco-friendly.
These technologies will also help maintain the integrity of exams by limiting manual interference.
The Sindh government announced these plans during a World Teachers’ Day ceremony organized by the All Sindh Private Schools and Colleges Association at Bahria Auditorium, Karsaz, Karachi.
Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ismail Rahoo, shared that the automation and e-marking rollout will modernize the education boards and improve transparency in exam results.
Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, MPA Syeda Marvi Rashdi, Additional Director Rafia Mallah, chairpersons of various educational boards, teachers, and students were present at the event, which also celebrated top-performing students.
Over 100 high-achieving students were honored, and dedicated teachers received shields in recognition of their service, underscoring the crucial role educators play in shaping Sindh’s education landscape.
